Fixing 1890 Building in Bolton Hill, Baltimore MD/ Demo Phase 90% completed!!!
As we’re ending the demolition phase we now have a blank canvas to create 5 bathrooms and 4 kitchens. Some of the ceilings will be carefully cut out in order to change the water pipes that run between the second and third floor. Hopefully the 130 years old textured wall paper will still hold itself and we will be able to keep this incredible ceiling, otherwise it will be demolished and recreated in the last phase of renovation. The 11 feet height allows plenty of room to accommodate the new systems without diminishing the living area. The basement was also demolished to remove the very old and huge furnace, this system was not efficient; the basement was being overheated in order to have some warmth on the third floor. Instead and per building code each unit will have its own HVAC system on the correspondent floor. By doing so the whole building will be energy efficient and effective throughout the fours seasons. We now have plenty of space in the basement to create an extra bathroom, a laundry area, a bedroom and a recreational room.
The Bolton Hill project now in the rough, will soon be a jewel in the Baltimore area. To handle such a project a team of experts is needed to work in a timely manner while resolving the challenges as they show up, we’re very grateful for our Akin Developer team.
